In your own words, what is your role at Sixmo?

I am a mechanical engineer. I provide our clients with HVAC design including heating and cooling calculations, energy analysis, equipment selection, duct design, and hydronic design. I also perform plumbing design including sanitary waste and vent, domestic water, storm systems and natural gas piping.

What’s the most unique part about working here?
I enjoy listening to music at work. Most people have headphones but at Sixmo we have 4 or 5 speakers around the office for everyone to enjoy.

How have you grown professionally while on our team? 
With Sixmo being a multi-disciplinary firm, I have picked up on many aspects of the entire design process. I have had exposure to a lot of architectural, structural, and electrical design.

Who is one person dead or alive you want to grab coffee with? Why?

Neil deGrasse Tyson. I enjoy all of the documentaries he is in and he seems like a guy you could have a good conversation with and learn a lot from.

If you could switch places with one member of the team for one day, who would it be and why?

Teila Lovell. She is a master plans examiner and is the “go to” for any code questions. It would be fun reviewing plans rather than creating them.
